After New Year, things quiet down outdoors. Holiday decorations and setups are being taken down; temperature keeps dropping that makes people wanna bundle up inside; trees are bald and the sky is grey. This is not the best time to take family portraits outdoors. I normally recommend clients to opt for inhome sessions that capture their unique home decor and relaxed ambience at this time of the year, but with one exception - outdoor urban sessions. The lights from the shops' windows, the doors and furnitures will make up for the lack of color in nature. Here I am sharing a family session taken in Bishop Arts District near downtown Dallas to show you how vibrant, fun and cosmopolitan urban sessions can be.
